Intern Dallis Interviews Comic Con Expert Jonathan Ortiz

Dallis:
Hey dude! I'm lookin for some tips and hints for Comic Con for Channel 933! Any advice you would give me, if I have never been before?
Jonathan:
Well for starters, you wanna be relaxed and well slept. Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to be surrounded by people. Your phone is your best friend, and if you plan on going to panels, be prepared to wait in line. Make sure you bring a book or a light read to keep yourself entertained.

Dallis:
Why bring a book?
Jonathan:
If you go to panels, odds are you'll be making line for it hours before it at least if its a big panel and you really want to get in bring a snack and water.
Well the dressing up is called cosplay not sure where that originated, but I do know that its a popular thing among the Comic Con people and its not mandatory but it will get you a lot of attention.

Dallis:
How do you run into celebrities? Have you seen any?
Jonathan:
Yes I have actually. Its not very common, but odds are you might. Most celebrities usually walk around but in costume.

Dallis:
Who have you seen?

Jonathan:

Theres always signing of some kind and G4's booth always has guest celebrieties. Well I saw Seth Green and even took a picture with him. He's always at the adult swim booth and I saw Blake from Workaholicsfrom far away though I've seen the cast of the Big Bang theory once or twice at panels I even saw the whole Avengers crew.

Dallis:
All this "wait time" what do you do? Do you meet new people? What do you do on all this down time? What is the vibe? Is everyone friendly? Is it a safe envioronment?
Jonathan:
It definetly is a very friendly enviroment. Usually while you wait, if you're prepared, you will read or play something. But most of the time you are in line with people that like the same thing you do so I mean its not hard to make friends. It's really cool especially your first time, because if you tell people its your first time usually they will give you tips and tricks you just pay it forward kinda deal.
Dallis:
What kind of tips do they give you?
Jonathan:
Usually the ones I just gave you. Bring comfortable shoes a snack and water or even food if you dont want to pay the expensive food in there. And always go 2 hours at the very least of your favorite panel and if its a big one even longer.
Dallis:
When did you start going to Comic Con and is there anyone special that you excited to see? Is there anything different that's happening this year at the Con?

Jonathan:
I'm most excited to see the Marvel panel this year simply because im really excited to see what they have in store for the next few movies
and I started going 2010. So I've been going for 4 years counting this one. Every year its usually about the same, but theres tons of new things usually the big changes are what they do outside the convention center.

Dallis:
Thanks dude!

Jonathan:
Not a problem man. I love talking about comic con!
