Stone about the track. Taylor said, "How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about."John's comments to Rolling Stone were as follows, "Itmade me feel terrible, because I didn't deserve it. "Dear John" is cheap songwriting. It's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go,'Wait til he gets a load of this!'"
