There’s something to be said about the color white in the dead of winter. White tends to be the black sheep of the color spectrum this time of year. No pun intended. However, I believe it deserves a place of its own midst the typical dark hues. I think that’s why it appeals to me most, because it is a-typical. It’s crisp, clean, ethereal and, surprisingly, wintry. I looked to some of my favorite blogs for winter white style inspiration.
LA Vagabond Dame reps white head-to-toe in a recent blog post. Her cozy oversized cardigan is from my go-to consignment store, Crossroads Trading Co. She looks like she’s grappling the breezy streets on the east coast, but she’s really in my Los Angeles backyard.
Gary Pepper does it right in an airy midi while touring the Portobello Market in London. She turned her spring skirt into fall wear by layering a stripped sweater with a Peter Pan collar and navy pea coat for maritime inspired look.
Nasty Gal is the epitome of bad girl LA street style. The November lookbook “Light Side of the Moon” features white hot sand and white hot clothes by cleverly mixing and mashing edgy sneakers and sporty jackets with femme skirts and tiny tops. As I’m clicking through the lookbook I can practically feel the warm sun that permeates LA beaches all year long.
Color rarely makes the cut on Swedish blogger and model, Victoria Tornegren’s blog. Victoria tends to be black and white in her styling, but let me tell you, she is never dull and never boring. She looks ultra-sleek in her Romwe Trench, what she labeled as a Lindex (white) dress and Fifth Avenue(Swedish label) bootie. Her look is timeless and perfect for fall.
How are you wearing white this season?
