Most men are better at reading maps than women according to new research from brain expert, Professor Gina Rippon, who believes that Legos, construction toys, and video games played during childhood is partly the reason why boys think differently when compared with girls, who often played with dolls.

Rippon, a professor of cognitive neuroimaging at the Aston Brain Centre, Aston University, Birmingham believes that differences in spatial recognition between boys and girls have more to do with the different experiences boys had growing up vs girls, not necessarily gender.

She also believes that despite the minor biological differences between male and female brains, most of the variances boil down to expectations and experiences between the two genders.

Things may be changing for future generations now that society has made great strides in the workplace, at home, towards equality.
